Anyone wishing to come along, please book by posting a comment. Choose which discipline you want to train in ( either static apnea or dynamic apnea ), and state which you will be doing. Before you post, check to see if there are more than five others doing the same discipline – if so, then please either choose the other discipline if possible, or book for the next week if it is showing. ( This means the maximum is 6 per discipline! )

Please do not book more than a week in advance unless you have been unable to book for the current week, due to full subscriptions. Anyone not understanding the above, or having trouble with postings, please mail Mark H.

** Attendees must be paid-up members of The British Freediving Association, and must either have completed a freediving pool induction or have the appropriate AIDA qualifications for the disciplines they are training in. **

Thanks everyone who came along last night for the delayed Xmas beer and pizza evening. Apologies to those of you I didn't get to talk to.

Well done to Ben, for claiming the inaugural 'Noble Prize'. This will be an annual award from now on, to someone within our group who has made achievements not only for themselves, but for others.

In Ben's case, he works tirelessly behind the scenes for both the BFA and Deeper Blue, not to mention his help and advice to all of us over the last couple of years. On top of that, he has managed to earn himself 3 national records. We'll miss him and Penny when they head back home this summer.

Welcome back to Dave King tonight, after several years absence! And a stonking PB static to boot - 6m50s, which I believe is a new PB. Nothing like making a re-appearance in style!

Tonight was also the night to present the UK Women's Championship award to Liv Philip. Well done Liv, and well-deserved.

Joining Liv and Dave in the static world of dreaminess, were Lucia and Mark. In the Dynamic world of speeding hairclips, were George, Ben, Keith, Gary and Ian.

Richmond Freedivers Christmas Outing

Shaddup, I know it's not Father Christmas....

Here's the plan - instead of staring at hairclips and other unmentionables on the pool bottom, we go out for a beer and a pizza...somewhere in Richmond, on a Thursday night.

If you're a regular ( or even an irregular, but ideally not a complete stranger ) then go to this link and tick off the dates you can make:

http://www.doodle.ch/gyczy3h6d4wm3mar

Now, you may be wondering what has happened to November. I'm afraid this is still serious training season for one or two of our crowd, and we can't afford to give up a pool session until December. So it may well be that it will be a January date ( which is nice because it means we have something to look forward to in the new year ).

I doubt we'll get a full green column, but highest hit date wins.

....and please, don't post a comment to say when you can make it, that's what the doodle poll is for. I suppose the monkey will have something to say, no doubt.

Thursday 8th November 2007

Welcome back from Egypt Liv and George! Static stalwarts tonight - Liv, Lucia, Ben and Toby. Dynamic denizens - George, Gary and Mark.

Not a monkey to be seen anywhere.

Thursday 1st November 2007

Static quattro tonight were Lucia, Toby, Ben & Mark. The triple dynamicists were Gary, Keith and Ian.

Thursday 25th October 2007

Welcome tonight to Gary Brown, and well done with your debut static PB! Well done also to Toby who made a PB in Static as well. Mark and Lucia buddying respectively.

Quite a busy dynamic lane, with Ben, Ian, Gary, Keith and Alex all jostling for position. Alex now holds the UK record for variable volume inside his wetsuit. I don't know exactly what was in there, but there was a lot of it. If I'd had one on me, I'd have awarded him a yellow card....

Thursday 18th October 2007

Welcome to Keith O'Sullivan, for his first night at Richmond Freediving. Joining Benny and Gary for some dynamic training, and prior to that Lucia and Toby for static.
